It is with great sadness that we said farewell our dear friend and colleague Kalvin Fleischer in Dec 2023.
We are truly grateful for the kind, calming presence and the vast knowledge and experience Kal shared with the many clients, builders, consultants and those he worked alongside.
Kal started at Slap as a teenager in 1989, and apart from a short break in the early days caused by an economic downturn, he worked here ever since spaning a 30+ year career at Slap. The respect he gained from people in the building industry was enormous. It was his sense of fairness, not softness that stood him in high regard. He knew his stuff, he was practical and didn’t overlook details that were poorly executed, but he was always fair minded and was solutions focused. More than that,
he was Slap’s moral compass, and was the calming influence maintaining a steady ship.
We miss him dearly.
Our deepest condolences go out to Kals family and loved ones during this sad time.
Canal House Coming Soon
We are excited to be working on this house located in Paynesville on the canals. As part of our service to our clients, we try to give them give a good idea of what the final product will be. We have been using some new visualisation software and have produced this video as well as some still images. It can help give a better understanding of the volumes as well as the feel of the design.

The theatre will provide state of the art facilities as part of their ongoing refurbishments and upgrades. The design of the exterior facade incorporates custom folded steel panels that are designed to provide a modern take on the existing buildings facade. The facade's appearance changes during the day depending on the location of the sun and the shadows it casts.
Gippsland Lakes Community Health Stage 1 Complete
Slap Architects are pleased to announce the completion of stage 1 of the Gippsland Lakes Community Health refurbishment and expansion project on McCulloch street, Bairnsdale. The staff now enjoy an up to date office environment with plenty of natural light, flexible sit-to stand workstations, dedicated meeting rooms and the addition of a lift.
