Slap Architects endeavour to create buildings which improve lives, are a joy to use and which minimise environmental impact and optimise energy efficiency, a holistic approach from beginning to end
Hello again from all of us here at Slap Architects. You may have noticed that we have changed the website a bit, we hope that you find it to be cleaner, more responsive and easier to find things.
The Slap team have recently completed several commercial architecture and fitout projects and are proud to add them to our portfolio. Our clients have come from all across Gippsland including Traralgon, Sale and Bairnsdale. We are pleased to renew several relationships with local government, healthcare and education clients and builders as well as beginning new relationships and projects.
In additional to architectural design Slap have been able to provide these specialist skills in these projects including:
Technical building Co-ordination on hospital projects
Client funding application submissions design and costing
Feasibility studies for refurbishments
Office planning for several clients
Town planning submissions for a wide range of clients
Master planning for schools and other institutions
Of course many of you would be aware of the new public toilet building in the middle of Bairnsdale, which we had great fun designing to make it both an iconic landmark as well as a functional building. While it has been the centre of some controversy, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive on both the form and the function of the building. It’s the most talked about loo in East Gippsland!
Slap Architects have been involved with several federally funded Trade Skills Centres for Nagle College, Catholic College Sale and Lavalla College, Traralgon. We assisted the schools throughout the entire process, from the funding application, design, and documentation through to contract administration.
Slap have designed and completed suites for new MRI machines both Bairnsdale and Latrobe Regional Hospitals; previously patients had to travel long distances to access this service. The projects themselves had quite challenging technical design requirements, requiring extensive coordination by us between the MRI suppliers, the magnetic shielding installers, services engineers and the clients.read more

For the client, the building process can be complex, with regulations, authority permissions, design and documentation of the building’s technical aspects, builder selection and finally construction. We are able to provide you with an understanding of the process, guidance and an assurance on the outcome.
When building a house, commercial building or renovating there is a requirement that it complies with the Building Regulation’s requirements for energy efficiency and that it achieves the required energy rating.
We all may have heard this term bandied around, but really, what is passive solar design and how is it implemented?
